Frequently Asked QuestionsQ1: How do I join Wellington Golf Incorporated?
A1: All members of golf clubs in the Wellington region are automatically members of Wellington Golf Incorporated. There is a small charge added to your club's annual subscription to cover your membership fee.
Q2: How are scores calculated for the Junior Pennants competition?
A2: Team scores in each round are worked out on handicap using the total of the best 3 of a team's 4 players' stableford points. Competition points are then awarded to a team thus: 2 competition points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. The placing of a team in the competition is determined firstly from its competition points and secondly from its stableford points if two or more teams share the same competition points. Here's an example: team A has 2 wins and 320 stableford points; team B has 1 win, 1 draw and 296 stableford points. Their scores are represented thus:
team A: 4.0320 team B: 3.0296
So the whole number represents a team's competition points, the decimals its total stableford points divided by 10,000.
Q3: Why are Junior Pennants competition scores represented in this manner?
A3: It's just a convenient shorthand method of keeping track of team scores and placings.
Q4: Why is material on this web site in Adobe Reader PDF format?
A4: Adobe Reader PDF format is the most reliable way we know of presenting large amounts of information in a consistent and reliable manner free of the vagaries of different operating systems, printer drivers and video software. If it is not already installed on your computer the Adobe Reader software is available for free from the Adobe web site.
